Eric signed a free agent deal with the Aces Oct. 29 in his return to the ECHL after 12 seasons, dating back to his rookie year in 1997. Originally an eighth round pick (#193 overall) of St. Louis in the 1993 NHL Draft, Boguniecki first reached the NHL with Florida in 2000 before moving back to the Blues, for whom he played a full season in 2002-03, finishing fifth on the team in goals (22) and seventh in points (49). His most recent NHL action came in 2006 with Pittsburgh and an 11-game stint the following year in Long Island. Eric’s NHL totals include 178 games, 34 goals, 42 assists, and 105 PIM. He earned the Les Cunningham award as the Most Valuable Player in the AHL with Worcester in 2002. Eric’s playoff totals include nine games in the NHL (1g-3a), all with St. Louis, and 25 others in the AHL, IHL, or DEL (10g-10a). Prior to turning pro, Boguniecki enjoyed a terrific four-year run at the University of New Hampshire (78g-95a in 142 games) between 1993-97.
