ACES CLOSE PRE-SEASON WITH 2-0 WIN OVER BOMBERS
Beckford-Tseu shuts out Dayton with 20 stops
Alaska Aces Press Release

Anchorage, AK - Olivier Filion scored the only goal Chris Beckford-Tseu would need midway through the second period and assisted on a third period insurance tally as Alaska blanked Dayton 2-0 before 2,103 at Sullivan Arena.

Head coach Davis Payne kept Keith McCambridge, Kimbi Daniels and rookie defensemen Zack Fitzgerald on the bench, while Mike Lee, Patrick Wellar and Justin Maiser took the night off after playing in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Bombers. Ryan Gaucher, Barrett Heisten, and Chris Minard (49 goals last year) saw their first action of the pre-season, and it was the ECHL goal-scoring champion that set up Filion's one-timer from between the circles at 9:58 of the second period.

After scoring his second goal in as many nights, Filion picked up an assist on a power play goal for the Aces six minutes into the third period, which came when Ryan Campbell redirected a drive from Peter Metcalf by Dayton goalie Mike Ayers, who again was game in defeat, finishing with 30 saves. Beckford-Tseu looked comfortable throughout his debut before the Anchorage faithful, easily flicking rebounds into corners and making the whitewash look routine.

Alaska begins the 2005-06 regular season next Friday, October 21, at 7:15 p.m. against the San Diego Gulls on GCI Magnetic Schedule Night. The series continues Saturday at 2:05 p.m. when KeyBank will present fans with Autograph Books for use at the KeyBank Autograph Booth, located on the dry side of Sullivan Arena and set up after all home games. All games, home and away, will be broadcast live on KFQD AM 750 and at alaskaaces.com. In addition, all games (excluding road contests at Long Beach and Victoria) will be available on a pay-per-view basis on the internet, courtesy of B2 Networks.
