CAPTAIN MAC BACK FOR THIRD SEASON WITH ACES
Keith McCambridge to play at least one more season
Alaska Aces Press Release

Anchorage, AK - Defenseman Keith McCambridge, Alaska's captain for each of the last two seasons, has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Aces as a player/assistant coach in 2005-06.

Despite being hampered by a nagging knee injury that led to arthroscopic surgery midway through the season, McCambridge turned in another stellar season in 2004-05, finishing +6 in 56 games while scoring three goals in a single campaign for the first time in six years. The 6-2, 215-pound native of Thompson, Manitoba, also contributed eight assists and showed he had not lost his edge in his 10th pro season, collecting 111 minutes in penalties, fourth-most on the club.
Originally an eighth-round draft pick of the Calgary Flames in 1994, the 31-year-old McCambridge later signed with Boston in 1999 and captained the Bruins' AHL affiliate in Providence before joining the Aces in 2003. His junior career was highlighted by a Memorial Cup triumph with Kamloops (WHL) in 1995.

Earlier this week, Alaska and Dayton agreed to meet in Anchorage for a pair of pre-season games October 12 and 13 at 7:15 p.m. The Aces open the 2005-06 regular season Friday, October 21 against the San Diego Gulls at 7:15 p.m. in Sullivan Arena. Alaska advanced to Game Seven of the National Conference Finals last year after winning the West Division with a 45-19-8 record during the regular season. The Aces are proud affiliates of the St. Louis Blues (NHL) and the Peoria Rivermen (AHL). For season ticket information, please call 258-ACES.
