BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Eric Regan tied the game in the final minute, and Timo Pielmeier turned aside all four Alaska shootout attempts as Bakersfield rallied for a 4-3 victory before 3,652 Wednesday at Rabobank Arena.

The Aces (19-19-4) never trailed despite being out-shot 45-15, thanks in large part to Frank Doyle, who matched his season-high with 42 saves, and their penalty killing unit, which erased eight Condor power play opportunities, including one in overtime.  Alaska sits 1-1-1 on its six-game road trip heading into a three-games-in-three-nights scenario this weekend, beginning with the first of two matches against Ontario Friday at 6:30 p.m. AT.  Live coverage on KFQD 750 AM begins 15 minutes prior to puck drop with the Peanut Farm Pre-Game Show.

Alexandre Imbeault opened the scoring with a wrist shot low blocker past Pielmeier after Judd Blackwater had set him loose on a breakaway with a perfect outlet pass.  The goal came at 15:11 of the first period, and marked the sixth consecutive game in which the Aces have scored first.  With 47 points (18g-29a) this season, Imbeault already has matched his total from a year ago.  Eric Boguniecki, back in the Alaska lineup for the first time in 18 days, fed Brock McBride in the slot for a 2-0 lead just 39 seconds into the second period, McBride's third goal in eight games with the Aces.  Less than a minute later, Ryan Menei put the Condors on the board with his 10th of the year, and Alaska led 2-1 entering the final 20 minutes.

Having gone 13-1 when holding the advantage after two periods entering Wednesday's action, the Aces seemed poised for victory when T.J. Fast increased the gap to 3-1 by flipping home a rebound just 2:18 into the final period, extending his points streak to seven games (2g-6a).  Erick Lizon brought Bakersfield within 3-2 by tallying just his second goal all year at 7:20.  The Condors failed on two subsequent chances to tie the score on the power play, and with under a minute to play, pulled Pielmeier in favor of the extra attacker.

Twice Alaska had a chance to score an empty-netter, but each try sailed wide and gave Bakersfield another attacking zone face-off, the second of which the Condors won, setting up a Regan drive from the point that caromed off Aces defenseman Derick Martin's leg and behind Doyle for the equalizer with 31.8 seconds remaining.  A scoreless overtime followed, and goals by Menei and Stephane Goulet in the first two rounds proved to be enough for Pielmeier, who became the first goalie to stop Imbeault in a shootout after the third-year pro had entered the game a perfect 5-for-5.
