Stefanishion Earns AHL Promotion; Aces Head to Bakersfield

Nov 18th, 2009

ANCHORAGE, Alaska  -- Matt Stefanishion (pictured), who handed out two assists as the Aces blasted Bakersfield 7-1 at home last Saturday, suits up for Peoria Wednesday against Houston.

The 26-year-old Stefanision currently ranks second on the Aces (8-4-2) with six goals and third with nine points.  He scored twice and had an assist in a 4-3 overtime win at Stockton November 6.  Tonight's game in Houston will be his 19th at the next level, with his first goal coming last year as a member of the Hartford Wolf Pack.  The Rivermen, coached by former Aces bench boss Davis Payne, currently hold down second place in the West Division at 8-5-3 overall.

After having taken three of four points against Bakersfield at Sullivan Arena last weekend, Alaska invades Rabobank Arena for another three-games-in-three-nights scenario, Friday and Saturday at 6:00 p.m. AT, and Sunday at 4:00 p.m. AT.  All three games in Bakersfield will be broadcast live on the flagship home of Alaska pro hockey, KFQD 750 AM.  The Pacific Division-leading Condors beat Ontario Wednesday morning, 4-3 in a shootout, to raise their overall record to 9-6.
