Shane Owen made 49 saves and Ryan Hayes scored twice, enough for the Stockton Thunder to slip by the Alaska Aces, 4-1 before a crowd of 5,356 at Stockton Arena on Saturday. The Aces, entering a ten-day layoff after going 1-2-0 on the road, outshot Stockton 50-28 while getting a first period goal by Greg Wolfe. It is the second matchup between the two teams this season and the two teams met last night, a 6-4 Aces victory at Stockton Arena. The Aces went 5-2-0 against Stockton last season, 1-0-1 on the road and are 14-3-1 in the last 18 lifetime matchups.

Jonathan Lessard’s two goals and Ty Rimmer’s 33 saves steered the Bakersfield Condors over the Alaska Aces, 6-3 in the first matchup of the season before a crowd of 2,553 at Rabobank Arena on Thursday. Tim Coffman gave the Aces their first lead of the season, 9:05 in when he rifled a wrister past Rimmer from the right circle. ACES ASSIGNED D BALDWIN

The Alaska Aces, the 2014 Kelly Cup champions and proud affiliate of the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League, announced today the team has been assigned defenseman Corbin Baldwin from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.   Baldwin, 23, brings 70 games of AHL experience to the Aces blueline with two assists and 138 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound defenseman has skated in two games this season and last year suited up in 64 games with Iowa, earning an assist and 129 penalty minutes.   [READ MORE]
