The Alaska Aces thank you for your loyal, passionate and undying support! For the 12th straight season, the Aces reached 20 wins at Sullivan Arena and drew over 16,000 fans at home for the final three games of the regular season. The Aces sent Olivier Archambault to the ECHL All-Star Classic as a starting forward, had forward Brendan Connolly named as an All-ECHL (2nd team) forward, and had Greg Wolfe finish as a runner up for the ECHL Rookie of the Year Award.

THE GOVERNOR CLOSES OFFICE

Jussi Olkinuora turned in a 35 save effort, his only goal allowed to veteran Justin Johnson and the Ontario Reign defeated the Alaska Aces, 2-1 before a season-high crowd of 6,318 at Sullivan Arena on Saturday in the Aces’ season finale.

PREVIEW: 2014-15 Curtain Call

The Alaska Aces conclude the 2014-15 season tonight, hosting the Ontario Reign at Sullivan Arena in the final all-time matchup between the teams (Ontario will play in the American Hockey League next season). Alaska is 20-11-4 at home this season and hosts Ontario for the first time since opening weekend, Oct. 17-19: nearly six months ago. The two teams last met last night, and the Aces defeated Ontario, 3-1.

RAMAGE MAKES NHL DEBUT

Defenseman John Ramage, last suiting up for the Alaska Aces in 2013-14, became the second player this season to previously play for the Aces and advance to the National Hockey League after suiting up today for the Calgary Flames, in a 5-1 defeat to the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre.   Ramage, 24, joins Laurent Brossoit (Edmonton) as the two players this season, and 13 overall, to skate for the Aces and advance to make their NHL debut. PLAYING TO THE CROWD

Chris Francis and Greg Wolfe registered multi point games while Niklas Lundstrom made 33 saves, helping the Alaska Aces defeat the Ontario Reign, 3-1 before a crowd of 5,419 at Sullivan Arena on Friday night.

The Aces, snapping a four-game losing streak, scored all three goals in the second period and cruised to a 3-0 lead en route to the wire-to-wire victory. They were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention by the end of the first period after Utah defeated Colorado, 3-2 in overtime, ending a streak of 11 consecutive seasons qualifying for the postseason.

The Aces enter the evening three points out of a playoff spot with two games to play. Alaska is 19-11-4 at home this season and hosts Ontario for the first time since opening weekend, Oct. 17-19: nearly six months ago. The two teams last met Wednesday, and Ontario defeated the Aces 4-1.

TOUGH NIGHT, JUSSI.

Jussi Oklinuora made 42 saves, one off his career-high, and Judd Blackwater supplied two goals and an assist to lift the Ontario Reign over the Alaska Aces, 4-1 before a crowd of 5,004 at Sullivan Arena on Wednesday.

The Aces avoided playoff elimination with Idaho defeating Utah, 7-3 earlier in the evening, but need a minimum of three points, with two games to play, to qualify for the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Ryan Walters tied the game with a second period power play goal, marking the fifth member of the Aces to hit the 20-goal plateau this season (first since 2008-09). [READ MORE]

END OF THE ROAD TRIP

Goaltender Igor Bobkov topped his season high with a 39-save shutout and the Utah Grizzlies held off the Alaska Aces for the second straight night, 3-0 before 5,634 fans at Maverik Center at Saturday.

The Aces finished their season-long ten game road trip at 5-5-0 and Utah scored twice, shorthanded (Alex Gallant and Matheiu Aubin’s empty netter). The Aces, three points behind Utah for the final playoff spot, have three home games remaining while Utah has three left, all on the road.   [READ MORE]
