ACES WELCOME BACK CONNOLLY & COFFMAN

The Alaska Aces, three-time Kelly Cup champions, have agreed to terms with veteran forward Brendan Connolly and free agent center Tim Coffman, head coach Rob Murray announced today. The pair joins defenseman Corey Syvret as returning players from last season’s Aces team that eventually captured their third Kelly Cup championship, tying the league record shared with South Carolina. THE KELLY CUP COMES TO TALKEETNA

The Alaska Railroad, in partnership with the Alaska Aces, will bring the ECHL Kelly Cup to the Talkeetna community for the first time on Friday, Aug. 29.

Head Coach Rob Murray and Assistant Coach Louis Mass, who led the team to victory during the 2013-14 season, will ride with the Kelly Cup aboard the private Alaska Railroad Aurora Car from Anchorage to Talkeetna for a tour of the town, as well as meet-and-greet and photo opportunities for fans.

HOMECOMING: ACES SIGN SUMMERHAYS, CURRIER

The Alaska Aces, three-time Kelly Cup champions, have signed rookie free agent goaltender Steve Summerhays and forward Tyler Currier, head coach Rob Murray announced today. Summerhays, a product of the University of Notre Dame and Currier, who played at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, both grew up in Anchorage and attended A.J. Dimond High School. The duo boost the total to six players announced for the 2014-15 Aces preseason roster. [READ MORE]

NEW ONLINE HOME OF THE ECHL: NEULION

The ECHL has partnered with NeuLion, Inc. (TSX: NLN), the leading enabler and provider of live and on-demand content to Internet-connected devices, to create a new digital service for all live and on-demand ECHL games. The service will be available on multiple devices, including PCs and iOS devices.
