The Alaska Aces continue a six game homestand tonight, hosting the Utah Grizzlies at Sullivan Arena in a three-game series. It is the second matchup between the two teams this season (first in Anchorage) and the Aces are 0-1-0 in the series, last defeated 4-3 at Maverik Center on December 10. The Aces trail Utah (fifth place) by three points in the Pacific Division as of Tuesday, and are 7-0-1 in the last eight home games. In the last five seasons, the Aces are 37-11-2 against Utah.

WOLFE: ECHL Player of the Week Runner Up

The ECHL announced on Monday the weekly award for Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week has been given to Shawn Szydlowski of the Fort Wayne Komets, for Dec. 15-21. Alaska Aces forward Greg Wolfe was named a runner up for the award, tying Szydlowski in scoring during a three-game stretch.

The Alaska Aces used two familiar young guns and a surging goaltender to earn five points out of a possible six (2-0-1) against the Bakersfield Condors. The Aces ripped off a season-high tying six goals on Friday in a 6-1 victory over the Condors, and followed up the next evening with a 5-2 triumph. The common thread? 

Greg Wolfe, Olivier Archamabult and Niklas Lundstrom.

Frans Tuohimaa stopped all five shooters, along with 26 saves to help the Bakersfield Condors sneak past the Alaska Aces, 4-3 in a shootout before 4,482 fans at Sullivan Arena on Saturday night. The Aces, extending their unbeaten streak (in regulation) to eight games, led 3-1 in the third period, squandered on back-to-back goals by Kellen Jones and Brendan Brooks in the final 5:50 of regulation. Tim Coffman returned to the lineup to score twice while Corey Syvret and Raphael Bussieres each registered two assists. [READ MORE]

The Alaska Aces continue a six game homestand tonight, hosting the Bakersfield Condors at Sullivan Arena in a three-game series finale. It is the eighth matchup between the two teams this season and the Aces are 3-4-0 in the series against the Condors, also scoring 18 goals in the last four combined meetings. [READ MORE]

Olivier Archambault scored twice and added an assist in over a five minute span to help erase a two goal deficit and lift the Alaska Aces to their seventh straight home victory, 5-2 over the Bakersfield Condors before 4,013 fans at Sullivan Arena on Friday. The Aces, who scored five unanswered goals, moved back to within a game of the .500 mark and improved to 3-4-0 in the season series against the Condors, scoring 11 goals in the two game series thus far. Greg Wolfe posted his second straight three-point game and Niklas Lundstrom made a season-high 36 saves. [READ MORE]
