ACES CLOSE 2011 WITH REMARKABLE 4-3 COMEBACK WIN

In a calendar year filled with incredible victories, the Alaska Aces saved one of the best for last. The Aces came back from a three-goal first period deficit to stun the Colorado Eagles 4-3 in a shootout on Saturday night from Sullivan Arena. The comeback completed a three-game sweep of the Eagles and extended Alaska’s point streak to two games. The Aces listed their league best record to 23-5-5. ACES, COURCHAINE GROUND EAGLES 4-0

ACES CUT DOWN EAGLES 4-1

CHRIS BRUTON RE-CALLED TO PEORIA

ACES DROP ANOTHER SHOOTOUT TO STEELHEADS 4-3

The Idaho Steelheads edged the Alaska Aces in an overtime game for the third straight night, and fourth straight meeting with a 4-3 shootout win at CenturyLink Arena on Friday night in Alaska’s final road game of 2011.  The Aces earned a point with the shootout loss, extending their point streak to 11 games, making it the longest such stretch in franchise history. ACES FALL 3-2 IN OVERTIME TO KUHN, STEELHEADS

ACES RECEIVE FORWARDS BACK FROM AHL

The Alaska Aces received forwards Tyler Ruegsegger and Chris Bruton back from loan to the American Hockley League on Monday, the club announced.  Ruegsegger had been with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers since December 8, and Bruton spent last week with the Peoria Rivermen.  Both players will join the Aces for their road trip this weekend and are expected to be in Wednesday’s lineup.  Alaska visits the Idaho Steelheads on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before returning to the Sullivan Arena on Wednesday, Dec. ACES DOUBLE UP REIGN 6-3 IN PHYSICAL GAME

The line of Wes Goldie, Brian Swanson, and Dan Kissel combined for five goals and ten points on Sunday night as the Alaska Aces defeated the Ontario Reign 6-3 at Sullivan Arena.  Alaska took two of three games on the weekend with Ontario, and won for the sixth time in the last seven games.  Sunday’s contest was extremely physical, keping in theme with the three-game series.  The clubs combined for 106 penalty minutes in the game.
